The Story
As a newly hired surveillance operator at Mindseye Security Services, your job seemed straightforward: monitor client properties through a network of security cameras, report suspicious activities, and ensure the safety of the premises. The pay was good, the hours were flexible, and the solitude of the night shift suited you.
What they didn't tell you during orientation were the incidents: the previous operators who disappeared without explanation, the strange reports filed in the weeks before they vanished, and the footage that defied conventional logic.
By the time you notice the pattern, it's already too late. Strange figures appear in the cameras, only to vanish moments later. Equipment malfunctions. Sounds with no explanation. And something in the surveillance room has changed, too. The walls seem to breathe. The screens flicker with messages meant only for you. The longer you stay, the harder it becomes to distinguish between what's real and what's a manifestation of your deteriorating psyche.
Can you maintain your sanity long enough to uncover the truth behind the anomalies? Or will you become yet another missing operator, your final reports filed away and forgotten?
I'm noticing more and more things on the cameras that shouldn't be there. The shadows look like ghostly figures, and the objects in the rooms seem to shift shape. The scariest part? Sometimes I feel like someone is right beside me, in the observation room. β Final report from Operator #25
